DEVON Vintage Car Club (DVCC) is to hold its autumn autojumble at Hatherleigh Cattle Market on Sunday, October 11.

DVCC was started by enthusiasts in 1968 and was initially named the Pre 49 Car Club.

The club now has over 200 members and looks to bring together those who are interested in preserving and restoring old vehicles.

Various events are held throughout the year including the well known autojumble at Easter and in autumn.

The members own and run cars dating back to 1910 including the Ford Model Ts, Morrises and Rileys.

Some of the cars have appeared in television series, including Inspector Poirot. One of the member’s cars was also used by a charity event for photographs with Lord Julian Fellowes.

This year’s event will start at 9am and will see a range of stalls and refreshments.

All proceeds from entry fees and other events organised by DVCC will be shared between the Okehampton and Ashburton branches of Dartmoor Rescue.

Last year, DVCC donated nearly £3,000 to Children’s Hospice South West.

A spokesperson for DVCC said: ‘Our autojumbles, which are popularly known as the best in the west, are always very popular. They provide a great day out for all car enthusiasts, in addition to the chance of finding that sought after spare part.’
