THE final two Devon County PGA Pro-Ams of the year have been played.

Barry Austin of Tiverton continues his consistent form by winning the rearranged Dartmouth Pro-am by three shots from Tim McSherry, of Yelverton and Scott Amiett, of Clifton Hill. Neil Holman (Churston) and Martin Ruth finished fourth a shot further back.

The pro-am was moved because of fog making the first date impossible to play.

1, Barry Austin, Tiverton 71; 2, Tim McSherry, Yelverton, 74, Scott Amiett, Clifton Hill 74; 4, Neil Holman, Churston, 75; Martin Ruth, Torquay 75.

Austin again continued to dominate by finishing joint first at the Teign Valley Pro-am on 68 alongside Jonathan Langmead of Hele Park. In third place was Richard Herring of Royal North Devon on 71.

Local amateur team of Ed Backhouse, Tony Sammons and John Boileau alongside Barry Austin won the team event on 13 under par.

More order of merit points were up for grabs at the second Devon County PGA medal which was held at Staddon Heights, near Plymouth.

Paul Cary of Fingle Glen and Jonathan Langmead came out in top spot by both scoring 70. Martin Ruth and Neil Holman, Torquay and Churston respectively, were one behind on 71.

Tim McSherry was the best placed finish of a local pro on 74 — which included an 8 at one of the par 4s.

This result put Jon Langmead on top of the order of merit with Neil Holman in second and Martin Ruth in third. Robin Goodey of Fingle Glen lies in fourth place but will lose ground as he is out trying to get his tour card on the Australian circuit.
