SOUTH Zeal and Lydford will host professional arts events as part of the Villages in Action autumn programme.

Townsend Production will bring their fast-paced adaptation of Robert Tressell's classic book The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists to Lydford's Nicholls Hall on Thursday, October 18. The production tells the story of a year in the life of a group of painters and decorators as they renovate a three-storey townhouse. The show starts at 7.30pm — call 01822 820345 for more details.

Anyone over five will be welcome at Angel Heart Theatre's show MazyMeg and the Honeybees, a show weaving through Devon's folklore with Dartmoor musicians and shape-shifting puppetry.
