TWO West Devon artists are this month displaying their work at the world?s largest open submission contemporary show, the Royal Academy?s annual Summer Exhibition. Jessie Brennan of Lydford and Mat Chivers of Throwleigh both have work in the exhibition, which has a tradition of showcasing work by unknown and established artists, side by side. The theme of this year?s event is ?light? ? works selected for display encompass a wide range of artistic disciplines including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and architecture. Around 13,000 works were submitted to the exhibition this year. The exhibition will feature in three one-hour BBC programmes presented by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, to be screened on BBC 2 on June 22, 23 and 24.
