TAVISTOCK Area Support Services Art Group is launching its 2012 charity calendar, raising money to help provide transport services to older people.

This is the first time the group has done such a project, and group members are excited about their art being available for all to see.

The calendar takes in local scenes and have been painted throughout the year by the group.

One of the artists, Mary Stewart, said: 'The group is thrilled to be able to produce this calendar and it shows off our varying skills.

'In the past the group has painted for family and friends but this is the first time our artwork will be seen by so many.'

Orders for the calendar will see the artwork going all over Britain and some have also been taken for people in America.

Anyone who would like a local calendar painted by local artists, while supporting a local charity, call into the Anchorage Centre. The calendar costs £5, with 50p supporting the work of TASS.
