THE recent exhibition in the town hall by the Tavistock Group of Artists was again a roaring success with more than 1,000 visitors enjoying the variety of paintings on display.

Art students from Kelly College and Tavistock Community College contributed an impressive selection of work, adding a refreshingly modern input to the exhibition.

An excellent band from Tavistock Community College played at the preview evening, adding to the party atmosphere.

Thirty-three original paintings were sold and a raffle of paintings by well-known local artist Ian Pethers proved popular.

Ann Briggs' delightful picture. 'Farmer's Friend' was voted best picture in show. The best new member's picture was by Mike Austin.

Tavistock Group of Artists welcome new members, whatever their age and ability.
