CHILDREN from the 1st Tamar Scouts group are ?heartbroken? after the sudden announcement that their only leader is leaving. Nicki Legg this month announced the news to the all beavers, cubs and scouts from the group, which meets in Drakewalls, that she will be leaving in July. A desperate plea has been launched by some of the children?s parents for someone who could take on this job in September to come forward. Around 45 to 50 children in the area attend these sessions, including Mrs Polly Tait?s children who are ?heartbroken? by the announcement. Mrs Tait said: ?Unless we can find someone to take her place the group will have to close at the end of this term. We need to appeal for help to find another leader. ?No qualifications are required but patience and dedication is needed for the leader position. Anyone can apply to become leader as on-going training can be done on the job.? For more information contact Mrs Tait on 01822 835830.
