POLICE in Tavistock are appealing for witnesses, after a theft at a charity organisation in the town.

PC Simon Raeburn said the theft took place some time between 5pm last Friday and 9am on Monday. A person or persons had clambered up onto the roof of the Wheelz vehicle outside the Youthwize offices in Pixon Lane, pulled off the plastic skylight and entered the vehicle.

A Chubb hand-held fire extinguisher valued at £100 was stolen from the vehicle, which PC Raeburn said could have been let off in the vicinity.

?Youthwize are a charitable organisation and they do rely on donations ? this is an added inconvenience and expense,? said PC Raeburn. He asked anyone with information on the theft to contact him at Tavistock Police Station, quoting crime ref JT 04243.
