POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road accident in West?Devon on Sunday.

The single vehicle collision, involving a green Citroen Saxo, occurred at around 4pm on the old A30 near Lewdown. The male passenger, aged 24, died of his injuries. The woman driver, aged 21, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances which led to the collision.

The old A30 was closed in the area for some time with local diversions set up. Anyone with information is being asked to call police on the 101 number, quoting log 606 of 16/09/12.
