AN ASSAULT on a ten-year-old boy took place in The Meadows in Tavistock on July 8 and police are appealing for witnesses.

The boy was assaulted by another youth, who is described as male, white, in his early teens, 5ft 4ins tall with straight, thick, short brown hair and a pale complexion. He was wearing a white shirt, grey trousers and black shoes and rode off on a skateboard. 

The victim sustained minor injuries to his arm and shoulder at around 4.45pm.

Police are keen to trace a mixed group of youths aged 12 to 14, whom they believed witnessed the assault and will know the identity of the offender.
