ON behalf of all the residents of Dolvin Road, can we express our disgust at the appalling work that was done to 'top dress' the road surface in Dolvin Road. South West Highways put this coating on to one of, if not most used road in Tavistock between 12.30 and 4am on a Saturday. There was no evidence of any watering of the road once it had been done and now, it is not too strong to say that every single house and the school are completely covered in a thick layer of dust. Two rollers went down and back on Sunday once but only down the 'tracks' in the middle and did nothing to the edges. They have since put white lines down the middle but cannot do any yellow lining to the sides because of the inch thick chippings that are still left there. We have rung SWH and left a message to get an explanation and received no reply. Dolvin Road is like a dustbowl and continues to be so. Can we expect to have our properties cleaned professionally and all the windows? What about the damage to the carpets where this has been unavoidably brought in. We would willingly invite anyone to come down to Dolvin Road and see the state in which we are living as well as those responsible. We look forward to a reply from those concerned and to tell us what they intend to do about the situation. Mike Hooper Tavistock
