WHITCHURCH Primary School pupil Amelia Sharp, aged 10, recently submitted a poem into an international poetry competition with more than 8,000 other entries and was one of only 197 to be selected for publication.

The poem now appears in Poetry Rivals collection 2011 'Eternal Thoughts' anthology on page 22. The poem was inspired by a study at a Plymouth University gifted and talented workshop where the film producer Tim Burton was the subject. It features a boy who was born with binoculars for eyes and is entitled 'Binocular Boy'.
