A GUNNISLAKE resident was one of 47,000 runners pounding the streets in the Flora London Marathon last Sunday to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation. Amanda Warnett chose to support this charity in memory of her daughter, Aimee Tugwell, who was 9 months old when she was lost to meningococcal septicaemia in 1988. Last year Aimee would have celebrated her 18th birthday, so to mark that milestone and to support the efforts of the foundation, Amanda decided to run the marathon. Having clocked up a finishing time of 4 hours 54 minutes, she hopes to have raised more than £2,600 for the foundation. Amanda said: ?My target time was 6 hours so I?m really pleased with my achievement and feel I?ve fulfilled my reasons for deciding to run the marathon. I wanted to raise as much money for the foundation and I feel very proud to have completed the race in memory of Aimee.?
