A DOG show, flower and vegetable show and all the fun of the fayre will be on offer at Mary Tavy Fayre this Saturday (August 11).

There will also be the chance to meet some farm animals, watch a sheep shearing competition, see vintage tractors and steam engines. There will be old fashioned games such as a coconut shy, and modern activities for children, including face painting. There will also be a beer tent and a hog roast and a grand draw.

The fayre starts at 1pm and anyone who would like to take part in the vegetable and flower show will need to get their entries in advance from Mary Tavy Post Office and Stores and be there early on the day to set up.

The event takes place at Mary Tavy Recreation Ground and profits go towards improvements to the playing field, its changing room and the children's play area.

Further information is available from the chairman of the Mary Tavy Victory Hall Memorial Recreation Ground, George Hill on 01822 810302.
