Taunton Ladies 10

IN an entertaining game played in atrocious conditions, the ladies showed how far they have improved.

Taunton started scoring with outside half Tina Coles crossing with a well worked try. It looked as if high flying Taunton were on their way to another win, but they might have underestimated Tavistock/North Tawton?s enthusiasm. They played a solid game with full commitment, led from the front by hooker Debbie Ward.

Tavistock/North Tawton began to take the game to Taunton and held the more experienced Somerset side to a 5-0 scoreline at half-time.

Tavistock/North Tawton turned around at the interval to continue to apply pressure. A scrum saw the ball feed blindside to full back Zoe Colton to go over for a well deserved try to level the scores.

Tavistock/North Tawton continued the pressure and from the base of a ruck Clare White led by captain?s example to surge over for a try to take the lead.

With wing forward Wiz Francis making some great tackles and scrum half Terri Eastern controlling play it looked set to be Tavistock/North Tawton?s day.

But a little against the run of play Taunton ran in a try by winger Megan Brown in the last minute.
