A NEW 'Gundog Training Course for Beginners' is set to start in Spreyton in April. Run by the Gundog Club this will be the fifth course to run in this location. Similar courses already run at over 20 locations across the UK, and each culminates in The Gundog Club's grade one test. These courses are an introduction to gundog training for beginners. The Gundog Club aims to introduce more gundog owners to this sport, helping people channel their pet's natural desires and talents into a useful and exciting activity. Taught only by GC accredited assessors, each course is accepting a maximum of six students for eight weekly, one hour, sessions. Over the eight weeks, students will train their dogs in basic obedience and simple retrieving, in preparation for the appropriate test, which will take place in the final week.
