THE inaugural ?business breakfast? to be held in Okehampton is due to take place next Wednesday, the first in a series of events organised by the town?s Motivation South West organisation.
Guest speaker at the breakfast, which is hosted by Okehampton Conservative Club, is former England rugby player and chairman at Plymouth Albion, Graham Dawe.
A West Devon man who attended Tavistock College and started his rugby career in Launceston, Graham was a leading player for Bath and a member of the England squad for several years.
In addition to his commitment to Plymouth Albion, he is also a West Devon farmer.
The business breakfast starts at 7.45am on November 24. Tickets cost £15 per person and are available on a first come, first served basis.
Future business breakfasts will take place on January 12, February 9, March 9 and monthly thereafter, with a break during the summer.
The events are being pioneered by Okehampton deputy mayor Mike Davies, of Motivation South West. Mr Davies hopes the breakfasts will provide an opportunity for local businesspeople to get to know each other at an interesting, social occasion.
