EGGESFORD Garden Centre has a new event coming up that will appeal to tree and orchard enthusiasts alike.

The free event, 'Scion Day', will take place at the centre on Saturday, February 5 from 11am to 1pm.

A scion (graft wood) is a shoot for grafting onto a root stock, or for top grafting onto an existing tree.

There will be a bring and buy mini market to obtain scions or to exchange scions from your own trees.

There will also be advice available on how best to collect and store your scions.
