COSDON Emperor scooped the champion male prize for Peter Holman and Pauline Williams of Sticklepath in the British Blonde Aquitaine class.
The splendid bull was making his show debut this year.
Peter said: 'The first show is always a bit traumatic, shall we say, but they soon settle down.
'We shall be going to Bath and West Show in a fortnight, and after that, the Three Counties.
'We don't take holidays — we go to shows! There's a good social side to it, you see people that you only see at the shows once a year, and you do a bit of business as well.'
Peter hoped that a good show career could bring financial rewards when Cosdon Emperor is finally sold for breeding.
'It does help a bit. I'm not sure if it makes a major difference, but it certainly helps with some buyers.'
