NORTH Tawton Rugby Club held a successful dinner and dance at the Waie Inn for their end of season celebration.
It followed a season of mixed fortunes, but the club?s spirit remains high.
Phil Whaly received the award for player of the year. The committee shield for most endeavour off and on the pitch went to captain Neil Peters. Top try scorer was Eddie Daw.
The Pat Slater cup, for her tireless efforts for the juniors and minis, went to Helen Sharp.
A new award for top trainer went to Debbie Ward in North Tawton?s newly formed ladies rugby section, which is proving a great success.
Most improved player went to new recruit Andy Pooly.
The annual meeting on May 13 saw new chairman Graham King take over from retiring chairman Chris Fear with vice-chairman Brian Crisp.
Secretary was Gill Hoggins, treasurer Kerry Skinner and fixture secretary Sarah Quick.
President this year is Pete Hoggins who has also been elected a life member of the club. The main agenda is raising a second team next season and strengthening the mini/juniors and ladies? section.
