THROUGH your newspaper, on behalf of SURF and MAD, I would like to thank all those people who were involved in any way with the Mad Hatter's Tea Party and the evening concert on October 10 held in Tavistock Town Hall.

The event was extremely well attended, both at the day event where people dressed up as characters from 'Alice in Wonderland' and during the evening at the wonderful concert.

We have to thank all the stallholders for supporting us so well, those who helped on our own stalls, and all our lovely customers. The concert would never have happened without the kindness and support from Ann and Ian Woods who organised the concert, did all the posters and tickets as well as distributing and selling them around the area. All of the acts gave their time voluntarily and we are extremely grateful for their help.

We would also like to thank the group of youngsters from Tavistock College and Plymouth City College for their enthusiasm, sense of fun and their extremely persuasive ways in which they managed to get us all to part with our cash for a very worthy cause, both during the day and in the evening at the concert. We hope that National Mental Health Awareness day will be celebrated and supported by the community each year on October 10.
