A TAVISTOCK College student celebrated his most successful rugby playing season with a string of successes recently.

Year 10 student Tom Whaley made his debut appearance for Cornwall in the recent county derby clash against Devon, which his side won 22-0.

His second county appearance followed soon after when Cornwall beat Gloucestershire 25-12 and Tom was also selected to play for Cornwall at the National 10s championships held at Rugby School.

Tom also plays for Launceston Rugby Club, which recently pulled off a treble of impressive wins, having taken the title in the North of England festival at Blackpool, the county cup final and the county sevens festival.
