JUST before Christmas 2005 John Hardy passed away. John had been the chairman of Tavistock Gateway Club steering committee for over 15 years. During that time he had chaired the committee through several crises, with determination that the club would continue. His delight in the club gaining strength and members was evident to all. He was a resolute campaigner in obtaining funds for the club and unstinting in his praise for the efforts of others. Tavistock Gateway Club has lost not only the chairman of its steering committee, but also a very good friend and advocate. We will all miss you John. Thank you for all that you did for Tavistock Gateway Club and its members. The Gateway Club is a social club for local adults with learning difficulties. It is run by volunteers and held each Thursday between 7pm and 9pm at the Alexander Centre. All members and volunteers are made very welcome.
