A NEW project looking back to a time of small, intimate English country dances

will visit Throwleigh next month.

Doorstep Dances is visiting several village halls in Devon and Somerset, bringing their dances to people's doorsteps. Music will be provided by Matt Norman on fiddle and Jenny Read will be the caller. To keep the intimate atmosphere, there will be no amplification.

Matt is a multi-intrumentalist steeped in the English tradition. He plays with several ceilidh bands and has a style that's guaranteed to get people wanting to dance.

Jenny is a dance teacher and caller; her friendly and relaxed manner means that everyone feels they can join in and have a good time.

The dance is aimed at people of all abilities. Everything will be explained clearly so that new dancers can follow but more experienced dancers will find some new dances that will keep them entertained as well as some old favourites.

The dance will take place in Throwleigh Village Hall on October 11 at 8pm.

Tickets are £7.50. For more information visit http://www.doorstepdances.co.uk">www.doorstepdances.co.uk or call 07759 215438.
