THE quiet community of Peter Tavy was swarmed with people for the annual Peter Tavy Village Fayre and Peter Tavy Plod, both held on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Plod saw a record number of adult entries in the main race and a well supported fun run, while dozens of people descended on the village to enjoy a traditional summer fair with a coconut shy, sheep shearing, tombola, Granny’s Attic and the return of the Dartmoor Teddy Bears’ Dangerous Sports Association, which saw cuddly toys ‘flown’ across the field behind the village hall in a spaceship, all to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the moon landing.
There was also the exciting duck race down the Colley Brook, which runs through the heart of the village.
