A MIDSUMMER Night's Dream was the choice of Hatherleigh Players as their contribution to the town's festival.

The players' enjoyed the splendid setting of Pressland House Hotel for their performance.

The work was directed and produced by Bernard Jones and Jane Francis — Jane also adapted the script and was choreographer.

Costumes were by Carol Edwards and Mandy Wonnacott.

The cast included Jane Fawcett as Hippolyta, Bernard Jones as Theseus, Kathy Christopher as Philostrate, Antony Morris as Egeus, Alan Jones as Lysander, Jane Francis as Demetrius, Louise Bater as Hermia, Helen Reddaway as Helena, Janice Goodwin as Titania and Bernard Jones as Oberon.

Puck was played by Vikki Collier, Bottom by Jim Goodwin, Quince by Joy Holl, Snug by Sandra Collier, Flute by Mary Farley, Snout by Sandra Hawking, Starveling by Laura Reddaway, Fairy Fairiel by Eliza Squire, Peaseblossom by Jessica Squire, Cobweb by Lucy Fawcett, Moth by Daisy Laing-Trengrove, Mustardseed by Catherine Hubbard, Changling by Martha Fawcett and the fairies by Jessica Vick, Alice Meardon and Megan Bush.
