A SKYDIVE undertaken by three pupils from Okehampton College was 'a surreal experience', according to one of them.
Connie Smith, Tom Webster and Tim Hall made the jump at Dunkerswell near Honiton on Sunday July 1.
Tom said that although it was raining when they arrived in the morning the weather improved by the time they jumped 12 hours later, providing a clear sky.
'At 10,000ft we could see both the north and south coasts of Devon,' said Tom, who added that the realisation they would have to freefall for a vertical mile was 'daunting to say the least'.
'Sitting on the edge of an aeroplane at two miles above the ground was a fairly surreal experience, but jumping out was just incredible — the adrenaline rush was ridiculous!' he said.
The jump was in aid of the mental health charity MIND, with over £1,000 being raised, and the three adventurers would like to thank all their sponsors.
