ORGANISERS of the Whiddon Down Fete had to swiftly change the venue of the annual event on Saturday morning as rain and wind threatened to call a halt to proceedings.
The fete was to have been held in the garden at Southcott, home of Mr and Mrs Williams, but all stalls and side shows were relocated in the village hall, where more than £350 was raised towards the upkeep of the hall and car park improvements.
Not that it worried the four visitors pictured above. Sisters Ania and Elysia Maltby from Whiddon Down bought some fresh courgettes, Freya Phillips found a pot of chutney, and a toy tiger on the bring and buy stall, and Lauren Abbott from Okehampton came home with a 1,000 piece kitten jigsaw.
