THE ivories of Castle Drogo's beautiful Bechstein piano will be tinkled this weekend by renowned musician Dhevdhas Nair.

Locally based pianist Dhevdhas, who lives in Chagford, regularly plays percussion in a medieval ensemble called Daughters of Elvin. However this Saturday (December 9) he will abandon his drumsticks and take to the keyboard.

Between 2pm and 4.30pm he will entertain visitors to Castle Drogo with a performance of classical jazz melodies.

Entrance to the event is completely free although visitors should go to reception first to get a numbered ticket before making their way to the castle's atmospheric drawing room.

After enjoying an interlude of easy listening music there will be plenty of time to visit the Christmas shop, walk around the grounds and visit the tea room.
