A BEAUTIFUL bounty of broad beans have provided children at Okehampton Primary School with plenty of food for thought. Children from year 2 enjoyed the first pickings from their new allotment beds and cooked up the beans as a tasty snack — although they weren't too popular with some of the children! The children and the school are now looking for some extra green fingered gardening help to fully maximise their allotments. Headteacher Brian Cunningham said: 'We are currently working on our Eco School Silver Level and are excited by the prospect of utilising our allotment beds more and more over the year. 'For us to fully maximise their potential we are asking if anyone could provide an hour's voluntary help a week to keep the weeds at bay.'
