THE Tavistock and Yelverton Marie Curie fundraising group recently held its annual Blooming Great Tea Party in the Wharf.

An enjoyable afternoon was had by all who attended and £250 was raised for the charity. The team expressed thanks to the management and staff of the Wharf for providing the venue and to Tesco for their generous donation. Since the group’s formation, more than £40,000 has been raised with the help and support of the community and businesses; all of this money is used to benefit the people of Devon.

The group is keen to welcome new members to join in this fun and rewarding work. The next event is the fun day in Tavistock Meadows on July 15, organised by the Lions as part of the carnival week celebrations.
