A TOP West Devon hotel is celebrating its 40th birthday early with a complete make-over of its restaurant. The Horn of Plenty celebrates 40 years in the business in May — and now boasts a new elegant decor and an up to date feel to complement the top class food created by Masterchef Peter Gorton. Joint proprietor Paul Roston said: 'We are due to celebrate The Horn of Plenty's 40th birthday in May and this is the second stage of refurbishment works at the hotel. 'We wanted a new and fresh look for the restaurant, one that would complement the fine food that comes from the kitchen, but we also wanted to retain the restaurant's relaxed atmosphere, which our customers have grown to love over the past 40 years.' The new colour scheme is in soft coffee and cream, with some walls being decorated with tasteful designer wallpaper by Harlequin. A new bar has been added to the restaurant area and the hallway and reception areas have also received a make over. The Horn of Plenty was recently selected as Devon Restaurant of the Year by the Good Food Guide 2007.
