IN supporting Mouse Mills' letter in last week's edition of the Times on the mobile phone mast at Yelverton roundabout, we would like all your readers to know that the Senior Planning Officer at the Dartmoor National Park Authority, Christopher Hart, has said that although it would be hard to refuse the application on health and safety grounds alone, all the issues including visual impact and suitability of site would be discussed.

To date, we have received in excess of 500 signatories to our petition in the village of which over 95% have confirmed their opposition to this unsympathetic and totally inappropriate location for this mast.

In the circumstances, we appeal to all your readers living in or visiting the village or playground areas to write with their comments, before it is too late, to the Senior Planning Officer, DNPA, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot TQ13 9JQ, quoting Ref No 0891/03. The deadline for receipt of letters to be considered is Tuesday December 23.
