Pete’s the man — it’s unanimous!

Tavistock Men’s A 1
PGSOB B 4
ON a windswept Kelly College pitch, Tavistock Seconds took on mid table PGSOB thirds, having had an enforced week off after the previous weeks match was called off.
The team had an enforced change with Nick Bradley featuring for the first time this season at right back after returning from injury — he was replaced by Tom Chanter who had been injured two weeks previously.
PGSOB were straight into the game and it was clear that the Tavistock defence were going to have busy afternoon. Edwards, Honey, Robson and Aveyard were getting stuck in in the middle of the pitch. but the visiting midfield seemed to have the better of the early exchanges. Lethbridge playing the centre of the defence marshalled the defence ahead of Kelly in the Tavi goal, but often was left marooned as the PGs forwards came forward.
PGs were 2-0 up at half time, both goals came as the PG’s forwards turned away from the defence and slammed the ball home. Tavistock rallied at half time and Andrews, Young, Heard and Ross forced a few chances before an excellent move was finished by Will.
At 2-1 Tavistock thought they were back in the game but PG’s kept their tempo and the home defence were placed under more pressure.
PG’s scored twice more and despite all Tavistock’s effort, they could not get back into the match. The man of the match was Pete Robson after a unanimous vote.
This week the seconds are away at Truro B, knock back 3pm, as Tavistock seek to ensure they do not go adrift in the bottom two of the table.
