Do you want to influence the look and feel of Tavistock, and even more importantly, help to raise the funds needed to keep Tavistock the way you want it?
A number of organisations in Tavistock are working towards producing a detailed assessment and plan for the future management of the town’s beautiful Conservation Area which has special architectural and historic interest. In fact, the area now has international importance as it is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage site.
The plan examines what needs to happen to protect and enhance the Conservation Area’s special features in the future. This includes proposed changes to the boundary of the Conservation Area to take in more sites and properties.
Areas which may be added include Kelly College and adjoining buildings, the Meadows, River Tavy and Benson’s Meadow, housing in College Avenue, Parkwood Road, Old Exeter Road,Trelawny Road, Russell Court, Glanville Road and Courtenay Road, Lawson’s,Tavistock Hospital and properties in Spring Hill, Plymouth Road Cemetery, St John’s House,Deer Park Lodge and the former quarry area, as well as the field and mature trees along Mount Tavy Road. But we need your help to shape the future of these crucial plans.
The plans are available to view during this consultation period which end on Friday 5th December and we would be grateful if you could complete the questionnaire below as your views are critical to this process.
