Riders meet some very special visitors
Thursday, 06 September 2012
INTERNATIONAL BMX company Colony BMX brought their Australian and UK team riders to Lifer BMX Tavistock on Saturday, as a stop-over on their UK BMX shop tour, organised by Tabletop Distribution.
The team signed autographs and gave away BMX products to around 70 eager young BMX’s from Devon and Cornwall, whilst enjoying a traditional Devon cream tea served up by Steve Wilson and Mike Parnell from Lifer BMX, Tavistock’s specialist BMX shop.
The pro-riders then rode at Tavi-Trails, the dirt jump venue in Tavistock meadows.
Clint Millar, the owner of Colony BMX said: ‘Tavistock and Dartmoor were beautiful, the town and its BMX scene is so friendly and welcoming.
‘The trails are an amazing facility for the young people of Tavistock.
‘We don’t want to leave!’
Lifer BMX owner Steve said: ‘For the local riders, this was like the equivalent of Manchester United coming to play at Tavistock football ground.
‘We will all remember this visit for years to come.’
The colony team are already planning a return visit to Tavistock next year.
