Silver for WI’s Nicky

NICKY Deane-Simmons, president of the newly formed Tor and Tavy WI, came home with a silver medal from the Triathlon World Age Group Championships held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Spain, recently.
She completed the four kilometre swim, 120 kilometre bike and 30k run in 8 hours 44 minutes and narrowly missed the gold medal by a minute.
She was delighted with the result having achieved her fastest possible race.
Tor and Tavy WI meets at Brentor Village Hall on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7.30pm. They have more than 35 members and welcome women of all ages.
