RUSSELL BAYLIS - ARCHITECTURAL CONSULTANT
Russell Baylis served as an officer in the British Armed Forces for 5 years before qualifying as a chartered Architect in 1996. During his time studying Architecture at Cambridge he was awarded the ‘Young Architect of the Year – Royal Academy Summer Show 1995’ by the Architects Journal and then went on to win 2 major architectural design competitions; a national RIBA sponsored competition for Camper & Nicholson Yachts new marina in Gosport and an RIAS sponsored European competition for Scotland’s Marine Interpretation Centre. During his career he has worked for the nationally acclaimed architect Sir Michael Hopkins & Partners London before moving back to the West Country and setting up Russell Baylis Ltd in 2007.
Following several recent projects in and around Tavistock, Russell set up TRANSFORMATION in response to the growing demand in the residential sector, most recently the rebuilding of ‘Meadowend,’, Crease Lane, Tavistock. “Despite the economic situation there is an evident demand for high quality creative design, especially in the domestic market”.
In addition to architectural design services his projects exhibit a variety of joint ventures with clients who wish to explore development potential of either land or buildings. Russell Baylis has extensive experience in looking at the feasibility of adding value through planning for both new build and remodelling existing dwellings or buildings.
If you have a project in mind, either to explore design ideas or make a planning application you can contact Russell Baylis via email on russellbaylis- ltd@boytonfarmhouse.co.uk or M: 07792 206655.
