THE TERRACE RESTAURANT
Well worth a visit!
The Terrace first opened its doors eighteen months ago and quickly became a versatile venue for going out in Tavistock. Interestingly people are still just discovering it but they are always amazed by what they find when they have come up the spiral stairs or the lift, through the Gallery and south facing terrace and into the Lounge Bar and Restaurant.
The architecture and the décor of the Terrace makes it a great venue for all sorts of different occasions from a quiet drink in the lounge bar and a romantic dinner to banquets, buffets, parties and then from morning coffees, lunches and afternoon teas to exclusive use for weddings.
You don't have to worry about the weather if you have your reception here, plenty of space and beautiful backdrops for photo opportunities! The restaurant can comfortably seat 80 people and many many more if a buffet option is chosen. Dancefloor and entertainment for the evening can all be arranged, the Terrace welcomes the opportunity to discuss your wedding day.
For the Bride to be The Gallery at the Terrace has a brand new range of bridal jewellery that is exclusive to them in the area, is quite beautiful, very reasonably priced and you are very welcome to spend as much time as you like finding out what suits you best. Zwarovski crystal, fresh water pearl and faux pearl in necklace & earring sets, combs, hairbands, tiaras and brooches for Brides, Bridemaids and Mothers of the Bride, all are available to buy here.
If you are looking for a wedding present there are over 100 stunning pictures in the Gallery by excellent local artists. Water colour, mixed media and original prints over a wide price range. The pictures change regularly with a new showing now on view. If you can’t make your mind up a gift voucher for a meal at the Terrace is always well received!

Have your Cake and eat it
Brides in 2012 can now have their cake and eat it! The popular cake deal from Lawsons just got better, it is now made from scratch at a local Devon bakery and the three tier cake deal, which includes stand hire and a wedding knife, is available in rich fruit cake, vanilla sponge or chocolate sponge. New for 2011 they have launched a new two tier stacked vanilla sponge cake, this is also ideal for birthday and anniversary celebrations.
“I love the new two-tier cake, it is so easy to decorate. A sponge cake is ideal if the couple want to use the cake as a dessert at the wedding breakfast” commented Liz Lawson from Lawsons.
There is a vast assortment of wedding tops, ribbons and sugar flowers to choose from and the friendly staff at Lawsons will be happy to offer advice so you can create the perfect cake to match your wedding theme.
MOORLAND GARDEN HOTEL

Newly refurbished, the Moorland Garden Hotel is the ideal venue for weddings. Located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon we have three licensed rooms for civil ceremonies and can cater for between 20 and 160 guests.
Our stunning 'Crystal Room', complete with chandeliers, containing one of the South West's largest sprung wooden dance floors, stage area for entertainment and views across the gardens is a wonderfully romantic setting where you can enjoy the wedding of your dreams.
The 'Mayflower' has its own entrance and attractive vaulted ceiling, while the 'Moorland' is perfect for couples wanting a minimal guest list of between 2 to 40. Whichever room you decide, our picturesque moorland gardens provide the perfect backdrop for those all important wedding photographs.
