Tavistock nursing team to tackle 100-kilometre charity cycle

By Contributor in Charity

A TEAM of brave ladies from Tavistock’s Public Health Nursing Team will be attempting the gruelling 100-kilometre Ride the Night London event on Saturday, May 27.

The team — health visitors Ruth Bushell and Debbie Palmer, PHN team leader South Hams Ruth Jeffs, school nurse Nicky Freer and Lesley Peters from Early Help 4 Mental Health — will be undertaking the Ride the Night London challenge. It is the UK’s only women’s cycle event, where they are raising money for the three main female cancer charities in the UK — Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.

Ruth Jeffs said: ‘Signing up for Ride the Night was easy but the challenge lies ahead. We’re pleased to be taking part as a team to give each other encouragement along the way to ensure we all make it over the finish line.’
